When Might I Need a Lawyer? Part 2

February 18, 2015

Doesn't the separation agreement get signed by the lawyer?  NO

Doesn't the separation agreement get notarized?  NO

Don't I have to file my separation agreement at court?  NO

Then when might a lawyer be needed?

1) when you are not sure how the law works for your situation, you will need to speak to a lawyer.  They will assess your situation and provide you with advice about how the law is to be applied.

2) if abuse is involved.

3) where partners absolutely cannot communicate and discuss and resolve the issues with each other or an intermediary, then their only other option is to communicate through lawyers.

4) if the partners need to go to court they may wish to have a lawyer represent them.
